The idea behind NoName is simple. No name. No label. A neutral wording that reflects our intransigent attitude towards art industry standards and trends – and our rejection of any attempt at pigeon-holing.
Over the past 10 years, our modest efforts have brought people together. Dazzled and delighted. Built connections. Expanded horizons. Created new things. And we’ve always listened: to you and to the groups and communities whose vision and values we share. As time has gone on, we’ve gained a clearer picture of our purpose: of the reasons why we do what we do.
First among these reasons is our desire to break and form connections. To leave prejudice, preconceptions and bad vibes at the door. To reconnect with nature and the things that really matter. To create a space for boundless sharing and creativity.
For us, scheduling, designing and running the festival is a labour of love. Often it borders on an obsession. It’s all about feeling – that sometimes ineffable instinct that comes naturally from the sheer artistic power of the immensely talented people we’ve been lucky enough to work with over the years. The result has been many truly unforgettable moments, and some breathtaking sunrises and sunsets over the Ardennes valleys, from the stunning backdrop of a medieval castle to a picture-postcard meadow.
Our local area may be culturally poor, but it’s rich in nature and tradition. From the outset, we wanted to be innovative: deliberately designing eclectic programmes and communicating in unconventional ways. But we never wanted to be revolutionary.
We’ve risen to that challenge, always guided by the same sense of purpose: to turn sometimes restricted spaces into playgrounds where people feel spellbound and free to express themselves without judgement. Thanks to your loyal support, our concept has gone from strength to strength – to such an extent that we can now tell that we built our very own community. It’s a source of immense pride.
We have high hopes for our community, and for the future. We believe that La Nature Festival will continue to grow and flourish as a standalone artistic event. Always erring on the side of the unconventional. Always placing live performance and connection front and center. Always dancing. Always laughing. Because these are special times. We want to keep sharing them with you.
